The combination of pollen from different cherry varieties is good for increasing fruit set during pollination, especially during stressful situations. This is independent of whether the variety is self-fertile. I do not know if in Sabrina’s case this is especially pronounced. It could be due to some nutritional problem in the tree, such as that it requires a greater amount of Boron.

Choosing the best variety of cherry is very difficult. The productive behavior can vary a lot with the climate and the terrain, the producers in the area are the ones who can best advise you. In areas with a significant risk of rain, varieties that are not very resistant to cracking are best discarded, regardless of other factors.
Lapins should pollinate Early Bigi well, if some flowers escape they are lost, no problem, the other cherries will be bigger.
My experience with Black Star is that maturation it is later than indicated by the nursery (you have to take it black to have an excellent flavor and release the tail well). I think that the Samba variety could be interesting to integrate in that plantation, although it is impossible to assure that it will go well. If the intention is to continue growing and you have the possibility, I would try planting individual trees of other varieties to test them in the field.

Can you tell me the source? I find recent publications (December 2020) from Spanish research centers that continue to indicate that Nimba belongs to group IV.

Regarding the production, I have not located comparative studies and I am not growing this variety. But it has good references, as it is not self-fertile and is early, it is normal that its productivity is lower than that of later self-fertile varieties. However, the fact that it is an early variety and with good size and quality fruit can make its cultivation very profitable in dry areas.
